Finished our Goal!

Elder Pearson, Jeffrey and his son, and Elder Reid

Sister Mubiana and Elder Reid

Dear Family & Friends,

Okay, so today has been pretty crazy so far. In the morning we washed our clothes, well we did not, the guy came and did them, but still. Then the AP’s were coming to get us so that we could go and pick up our suits, but when we got to the mission home it was like we could no longer go because of some things that happened. So we had to go back to Adenta. Before we were coming back we started to do our emails, I did not even start but I did finish reading the ones that you sent me. Now we are back in Adenta at the slow computers! So, we have been all over town today. After this we will probably just go back to the apartment to clean because we have not done any today and we have not cooked any food. Now we will go out with the AP’s tomorrow, they were going to come and stay the night but it looks like they will not be doing that now. Tomorrow we will go on splits with them instead.

Well, to answer your question about what Elder Pearson and his parents will be doing when they come to get him: First, go shopping for cool stuff. Then they will be going to some monkey exhibit in Ho and also to Cape Coast to see some things. That is really all they are going to be doing. They will be staying for only one week. I don’t know how long you are going to stay but this is what I think. You can stay anywhere you like but there are few places that are good. That’s cool that you had already emailed President Smith and that he has already written you back! I was going to tell you in this email that you would have to do that but it sounds like you already know what is going on. That’s also really cool that he invited you to the going home dinner, Elder Horton will be happy to see you there! Ha ha.

Well, this week we had another great week at church. The people that were for baptism came this week (all but 1) so that was really cool. We are planning on baptizing 7 or 8. The man named Elliot has a son that goes to the other church so we are trying to talk to him this week so that he can also come and be baptized at the same time as his father. That is how it kind of is here—some people’s children do not always go to church with them. I guess our tradition, that families should be together, is something that only our church teaches. We are the only ones that teach that families can be together forever.

The lady that we baptized at the first of this transfer was only baptized with her 3 children, but now her husband came this week, so we were very happy about that—it’s way cool! He is a really cool guy--he has been to Germany and some other places.

The basketball went great. We went over to their house during the day around 3:00. The game was great--there were 10 of us and we had like 5 games--I played in 4 of them! They were really fun but the rain did make it hard. There were lots of puddles everywhere that had to be dodged. The new basketball was sweet though and also the new back board!

This week I got some money out of the bank because I ran out; I know that’s not good. I was very sad about that and also about the suit. We did not get to pick them up but that’s okay. I guess they still did not mine really cool. It’s a brown color suit with purple pin stripes, so it’s going to be pretty retro--just like I thought it would be! I’m really happy now, but I did not get to see it yet. I am not sure if it is even done.

One of the greatest things this week was that we met our goal! We finished our zone goal. That was pretty much great! We have just enough baptisms this week to make the mission goal. We don’t know how it’s going to go, but we hope that we will get it. This week we will be having Zone Leaders Council. That will be pretty good. Elder Pearson has to do instruction but there is too small of time so I do not have to do it. We also will be doing a role play together about companionship evaluation. So this week we will be practicing that. It’s pretty cool!

Oh ya, the last thing that Elder Pearson and his family will be doing is going to some of his recent converts. I am trying to learn sign language, so that’s pretty cool. I wish I could learn it well enough to understand it before I go home. I’m learning a little from Elder Farnworth, but if you find anything that you can send me like a teaching guide that would be cool. Then whenever you send me another package you can put it inside.

That is all I can think about for now. So, I don’t really know what you want to do while you are here—it’s all up to you. You can just tell me some things you would like to do, but the lady that called you knows a lot about it all---she was here with President Gay---so she will know tons and tons.

Well, love you all tons and tons! Miss you but don’t worry I guess you will see me here soon.

Love you all tons again!

Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
