Dear Family & Friends,
Well, it sounds like Dad still is looking young, even though you have not been working out! Elder Pearson and I started our second work out this week. I think I want to get my abs ripped a little more. My chest is getting pretty big, not huge though---but I really cannot tell. I will have to do the P90X when I get home—I really like the 6 week cycles. They are just perfect to tell if you are actually getting stronger and more defined. I think that’s how long it takes to build your muscles back. I can see a big difference in how I look each time I do it and I always feel better, too! Now you guys have to start!
Well, once again our baptism went really well--we baptized the man and his son. It was really amazing because the day they were confirmed--the Mother came to church because she wanted to see it. She really loved it, and I think and we will start to teach her this week. We also met someone in a tro tro the other night who Elder Pearson contacted. We gave her a small Joseph Smith testimony pamphlet to read. She read all of it and called us the next day to see if we could come and help her understand it better, so we went out there. She lives with her Uncle and he has some bad thoughts about the church. She loved the teachings and even wanted to come Sunday. We had some members go to pick her up but her Father did not let her come. So, she called us and told us to come out there and see her Father. We sat down and started to teach him. He understood everything, but he had some small questions about what we believe in, and some questions about what the Book of Mormon really is. He loved all the teachings, but he is an Elder in his Church, so we will see what happens with him. Now we think that he will let the daughter come to church this Sunday--anyway we will keep you informed.
We had plenty of people come to church again. We finally got some new people to come to our old Ward and it was great. One guy was from some contacts we did much earlier--when I just came to the area at the first of these 6 weeks. So, our work is really paying off.
This transfer has gone faster than any other transfer I have ever had and I loved it because now the 2 areas are pretty amazing! We are going to do really good as a Zone and also we are trying to help our Zone get to the mission average of baptisms per companionship. That would be the sweetest thing ever! We are not too low now, but just out of reach. This transfer we are going to do it!
We are still getting many referrals from members and it’s been going really well in both the wards. I was going to send pictures today but once again we had a problem and it is not working. Next week we will be doing it, it no matter what! I hope. Transfers are next week, we will see what happens but I think I will be staying. I also gave my first instruction in Zone Leader’s Council. I think it was okay--I will tell you about it next week. The mission met the baptismal goal again--it was awesome! We got it by one. This week is also Zone Conference--we will go to the Temple site this time for ours.
Well, love you all tons! Thanks for everything! Tell Grandpa and Grandma Briggs I got the package they sent (29)! Thank you so much!!!!!!
Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
