So we did have our baptism--it was great! I was the one who baptized and the girl did not know she was going under that water, so it was a very great experience for me and her! ha ha! Just one more baptism and we have finished our goal. It’s getting a little better now with teaching, but we are still having some draw backs. We also have another boy that we are going to prepare for baptism.
One thing that was very nice about the Christmas call was that it seemed like I had just talked to you--just like when I went to EFY or to tennis camp! In fact, it just seemed like only a day had gone by since I was talking to you from my first area, Kasoa--out with the Muslims. That was one of the greatest things ever--I was very happy! It was not hard to hang up either. Anyway, it was very good talking to you. It sounds like everything is well at home. It also sounds like your Christmas was awesome!
Since I have been out here I have never just stayed in because I did not want to go out. There have been a few times when I have not wanted to go out, but I always did because this is the Lord’s work not mine. Lots of people here are always sick. Sometimes every time we go to see them. I don’t know why. Dad taught me a good principle in that if you are so sick that you’re going to die then you don’t need to go to work, but if you can stand up to walk then you can go to work! It was a great thing that I learned.
Today I’m going to go make the Panda Express Orange Chicken that Josh and Jenny sent me for Christmas! It’s going to be very good--I am thinking! The pictures and instructions they sent looked amazing. I did find a place that sells chicken that’s not too bad. I think it would have worked, but I will see what happens. Maybe I will make some more tortillas and chicken spice and have some chicken to put inside of them.
Oh ya, we did not have a Christmas program at church really either. So those things were very different. Christmas and Halloween--two of the best holidays not celebrated in Ghana--and turkey day (Thanksgiving) those things were sad to miss. But it’s all good.
It will be sad to leave here when the time comes, but needless to say, I will be wanting to come back to Ghana, but in a different way.
Well, I love you all tons.
Thanks for the Christmas you all brought to Ghana--I mean everything!
Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
