Thanks For Everything--Especially The Letters!

Dear Family & Friends,

I forgot to send the camera chip home with Elder Pearson, so I still have it. Sorry about that, I guess it will be a while before you get to see all the things that I have been up to. Sounds like you both, Mom and Dad, had a great trip to San Diego. I think that is great that you were able to go. The smart car sounds pretty sweet. I will be glad to see all the pictures of the stuff you have been doing since I have been gone.

Well this week went pretty good, but then when church came around it was not too easy. This week at church we only had 2 people come, it was quite the upset. Well we are still going at it strong. This week we are suppose to have 5 baptisms in our companionship. I don’t know how it will go yet. None of the people were interviewed so that is a big problem, so we hope tomorrow they will be interviewed. It’s a little stressful. We were suppose to have 6 but one guy is having a problem, so he pretty much told us that he would not be baptized. So that was kind of sad.

Well it’s getting down to the end now and it’s not as easy as I thought. I am getting tired a lot faster--like even right now it seems like I am really tired. I don’t like it at all. We are still working harder and harder. I still have a lot to finish. I really hope that these last couple of months is easy because we work so hard. This week we found some really cool people so working with them will keep my mind here.

Brother Felix was not married in the temple yet just a church wedding. His wife was just baptized in January. So that is what is going on there.

The menu this week is going to be a sweet and hot thick bean soup with bread and also tortillas with chicken and fried onions and green peppers. It’s going to be really sweet. Also in the morning I’m making pancakes with syrup, so that they will be very good. I don’t really like pancakes but it will be nice for a change. So that is going to be really cool. I hope that my companion will like them, but he also will have his own food.

We also went to another training session that was pretty good. It was suppose to help us get more people to come to church. Sadly we had less, but that is just because it is starting and now we will have more. The people are also just getting use to my new companion and also the way we teach now is different than before, because not everyone teaches the same. After this week everything should be settled back down. This week we have to work very hard to find some people that will be ready to be baptized in October--right now we have just one so we have to get more. At the first I thought we would have a lot but they decided other things were more important than coming to church.

Things here really do not change too much, just the same old thing to remember about, stress over the people who did not come and stress to find more people. It’s been the same my whole mission it’s kind of funny how things work. Mission really is very repetitive. You just do the same kind of things for 2 years straight and it helps you to find good ways to get in routines. I think the best thing is now I like to study--when I get home it will be really easy to study all of my school stuff--but still I don’t think I will like school.

So pretty much I am looking forward to you coming. I am waiting patiently but it’s not easy. On the blog counter it says I have completed 90% of my mission--that is crazy. You never think at the first of your mission that you will every get to where those other guys are, but then when you’re here, you’re like what happened to the other 12 months. I guess that is the way it’s suppose to be, if you remembered everything it would feel like you would be here for a lot longer time.

Well, love you all so much! Thanks for everything--especially the letters--I have loved reading about what everyone is up to. Have a great day.

Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
