"Mey do Ghana bebrie!" (I Love Ghana Tons!)

Dear Family & Friends,

Well, this week was great! We had a great time at church this Sunday. First of all, right when I got there, Elder Dickson from the Seventies was there! That was pretty cool to see him bear his testimony---it was pretty awesome---but that was not even the half of it! We had two families come to church this week. Well, 2 mothers with 2 of their children--so we had 6 plus one other person. I was very happy --we have been working with members to get them to church this week and it worked out. Another guy that has been coming to church for the longest time came this week and in 2 weeks we will baptize him! Tomorrow is Zone Conference---that is going to be sweet! Everyone worked really hard to achieve their goals.

So, we got to baptize 15 out of 13! We were all very happy but we really know it’s not us at all. That’s the best part---when you teach by the spirit people progress to baptism.

So about your questions: No, I have not sent any pictures yet. Grandma and Grandpa wanted to know what to send to me--I really don't need anything---but, if they are going to send me a package I would like some deodorant without anti perspirant and maybe some beef jerky. I have enough packets for gravy--I have lots now. Tortilla shells (if they will keep) would be nice—haha! I don’t know about that one. Some healthy stuff—I’m really trying to get in shape--I don’t want to come home fat—I’ll come home skinny! But, not too much healthy stuff because some is really nasty!

So now it’s on to another 6 weeks and a new planner—I’m very happy about that. We just got back from going to get some ties and I was going to get some sweet stuff to bring home, but guess what? All of the stuff is from America so I don’t know why I would bring it all back to America when I can just buy it there! I will find out where to get some stuff from Ghana, maybe that same place I went with Elder Riding. I don’t know how to get there exactly. That’s okay though, I will figure it out before I go home.

I did not have banku all last two weeks. It was not good at all. This week though I will be getting plenty.

You were talking about how the missionaries in Gunnison had used up all their miles and you took them around to teach. Well, the miles on my bike never run out! President Smith tells us as long as it goes and its safe ride it!

Now, questions for you. Are you and dad working out? How long is Matt’s hair? Are you playing tennis at all? Is my ball machine still there or did you sale it?

Transfers are on March 17Th but I don’t know what will happen yet. Well, today I’m going home to make some agushi and kontomeri stew for aba. I don’t know if you have any idea what that is---it’s pumpkin seeds ground up and then leaves. It’s actually something I will make when I get home so you can taste it. I think you will love it tons! ha ha! I will be sure to put tons of bones in it then you can break the bones with your teeth and eat them. They really do that here, but for me, I don’t do it I don’t like it.

Home sounds pretty much the same except completely different also! No Jenny, no Josh, but when they come home I will be on the last stretch. I know I’m going to miss this place tons though. “Mey do Ghana bebrie”---that means “I love Ghana tons” in Twi. I will also be happy to come home to see the other people I have. I know it has been a long time since you have seen me. I have not changed so much, but I have change a little bit. I talk slower and I look like I’m always tired. My shoes and clothes are all ripped, torn and battered to death. My body sometimes feels like my clothes look. And in all of it, I still right now have a smile on my face. It has been the greatest experience of my life up to this point. Right now I feel like I will never have an experience like this again because they just don’t come like I have had it.

Well, I love you all tons! I’m happy that everyone is still writing me--it’s great to get your letters! I really have written some of you back but the letters are still sitting in the apartment with no envelopes. This week I will send some, I promise. I don’t know to who, but I will send them.

Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
