FM's (Free Meals)!

Dear Family & Friends,

Well, this was so far a pretty good pday. I washed everything because I know that I am going to be staying or going!! Ha ha! Either way I needed to wash everything. It’s true that transfers are this week--we made it through this transfer like it was nothing at all. I think that’s how the end is going to be for the rest of the time out---I will be so busy that it will just fly by. It’s kind of weird when I think about it too much. I feel like I just came here still. When I get home it might be like I was not ever here at all. That will be really weird. But I will still have the pictures to tell about it!

We had a great Sunday--5 investigators came to church! That was not all that made it great. After church we went to eat lunch at one ladies house--she made enough fu fu (with palm nut soup) for 4 elders! After that we went to teach a lady that came to church for the first time this week. She was very happy when we got to her house and she was busy preparing fufu also! We also taught another lady in her compound. I did not know it at the time, but she was preparing fu fu for us, too! So we ate again--this time with some sodas (fanta) and fish. It was great except for one thing: I had already planned on one fm (free meal) with the Ward Mission Leader. So we went there about 2 hours later. He fixed us fu fu with ground nut soup! It was my favorite with fish and meat! It was the best, but I was so full that I could not eat all of it, so I was very upset. Then he gave us oranges and then after that fan ice (that’s ice cream). I was pretty angry that I had already eaten so much because I would have finished all of that food. It isn’t very often we get one fm---let alone a few in the same day!

We set 4 baptismal dates for this week but 2 of them did not come to church. One of them was a family member (the son) and the other was someone we have been preparing for the last 3 transfers. So we dropped back down to 2 baptismal dates but we hope to find out what was wrong and then give them new dates.

So, this is a big week for me and for the mission. I might become the first missionary ever to stay in one area for one year! Everyone thinks that I’m going to be transferred and they are all preparing for it, but I don’t really know. Anyway, for me either way is okay.

I did get my banko and that’s what I’m going to eat again tonight. That’s probably my favorite food to eat and it never makes me sick so I’m always eating it.

We had Zone Conference---that was pretty darn good! We got a new directory of all the Elders in the Mission so now I have two. So, every missionary before me and every missionary after me, I will know.

Well, love you all tons! Thanks for the emails this week from everyone and the updates.

Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
