Still In Nungua!

Dear Family & Friends<

I'm still in Nungua. After this transfer I will have the mission record for being in an area this long! Before too long, I will have been here for 1 complete year! That's pretty crazy to stay in one area for one year.

They split my area because the Elders area was so far from the chapel the way they originally had the area divided. So now Elder Boateng and I are kind of in a new area. I gave all my investigators to the Sisters--but we still have 4 with a date and we are trying to get more with a date. I got my new trousers sewn--they are really cool! I will take some pictures so everyone will get to see them before they get all crappy.

My new companion is awesome! He is from Ghana and his name is Elder Boateng. He is actually from Assin Fauso--it is on the other side of Ghana--the Cape Coast side. He knows the Gospel pretty well and he has learned a lot. He is good at teaching the way I teach, not all completely different. Elder Simeon got transferred to Tesino--that was pretty crazy for him--he did not want to leave me.

Pretty much every thing else is the same. We did not have that great of week at church because some of my investigators got changed to the other side, but I'm not worried, we still have some great people to teach! We will just have to see what happens.

Right now in Ghana they are doing the same kind of Census thing, but all the people have to go to these small stations to register. That will be pretty crazy to see what they do with all of it when its over, but I think they want to see how many people really live in Ghana and if there are too many people here! So, that will be pretty crazy!

Elder Kamara had a very good week--they had 2 at Church this week which was pretty awesome. He also got a new companion from Nigeria. I don't know if you remember or not but he was with Elder Gale for a little while. Elder Gale was called as a Zone Leader. Elder Hicks was brought back to Teshi, so we are now in the same Zone. It's been pretty cool. Elder Rohmann was sent to North Ridge and Elder Bestonn was called as our Zone Leader. So this transfer was pretty big.

It sounds like Josh and Jenny's house might be ready to move into when I come back from my mission--so I will just move straight in!!! Dad said in his email that he wanted to go back to work. He said---hopefully the carpet gets finished so we can go home and I can go back to work. It's like he likes to work! Well, after some time of doing some sort of work, you get use to it and it seems like it's not normal when you don't go every day and do it. When I was sick I could not believe I was just sitting here in the apartment--it was not fun--I would rather be working, too!!

Oh yeah, that reminds me, we might be getting a new apartment. Elder Hale told me to start looking for a new one. I found one that was really sweet, but it's still the Lord's work--he will be the one to decide where we live. That will be really sweet if we get a new one, but for now we cleaned this apartment up really nice because we want to win the clean apartment award!!

I seem to look a little different now, too---like I got old really fast! I wish you could see a picture of me right now--you would not recognize me!!! I finally got all my new garments so now I don't have to use those old ones anymore. I am keeping them so that I can wear them at the very end of my mission. I'm trying to save some money so that I will be able to buy some sweet stuff for everyone. I am going to try not to spend anymore money from the bank--only my sub. money--then when I get down to the last I will have some money to buy things for everyone!

The sisters from my MTC group go home in 2 transfers--that's really weird. Our apartment is really cool--every one is getting along very well because the spirit is here and that makes everything much easier.

Well, I hope you all have a good week. I hope Josh will tell me a little more about the medical school he is going to--also I would like to know what he is going to study now that he is this far into it. It just seems like really he will be at Snow College with me when I get home, but I know that he wont be! Next week I hope to see the pictures from the house--that will be really awesome.

Love you all and I hope everything is well. It's still great here--hot---but soon it will be the rainy season. I hope it's really rain this time!! Okay, bye bye.

Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
