Dear Family & Friends,
To answer your questions----The envelope got to the office, but I have not picked it up yet. We did not get a new apartment and we won’t until June---so I don’t know if I will still be here, but I could be. We don’t know if we won yet, but we will know in 3 weeks! They do not really celebrate Valentine’s Day here, people just always talk about it all day and night but they don’t really do anything for it. Yes, it did rain! It rained tons and tons and it was awesome! I was very happy, even though it was at night. So, all day during church and during proselyting, the weather made it just seem like I was back home in regular Gunnison. I enjoyed that day very much.
So, the big news is in---------on the 24th of February we are having an important speaker come to see us! His name is Elder Jeffrey R. Holland and it’s going to be sweet! It’s the first time an Apostle has come to speak with the missionaries in my mission for as long as I have been here and many of the other missionaries, as well. So, that’s going to be really great!
Also, on Wednesday of this week we are going to the Temple! That’s going to be for our interviews, so this may be the last time I go inside before I go home, especially if the next temple trip is in December like last year. Actually, I will get to go once more before I leave on my plane ride back home so that’s going to be even better!
This week we have 3 baptisms, so we will almost reach our goal---just one more after that! I don’t know if I told you about Brother Kwasi, but he is a really cool guy we started teaching some months back. He always asks really good questions and has a completely different way than most people. He understands better than the regular member and has read most of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price. He is very interested in the Gospel and is expected to be baptized on the 27th of February, so that’s pretty awesome. He will be our 4th baptism. The others are the lady that we contacted earlier with the daughter named Porsha, and 2 kids from families that are members who we have been teaching (they moved here from the village). We also have some other people that were sick and did not come to church. Other than that everything is going great!
Elder Hale and Sister Hale came to do the apartment inspection this week, so that was pretty good. We had cleaned everything!
Today I am going to try to make some orange chicken with the bone chicken and see how it turns out. I hope it is really sweet, but I don’t know if it will be, we will just have to see what happens! Nungua is doing well. Everyone here knows me! I have been down every street and alley way in the city and now since I have been moved to the country, I have been down every road there, too! I have been here for almost 10 months, but its okay---everything is sweet no matter where you serve as long as you have fu fu and banko to eat everyday!
Anyway, I love you tons Mom and Dad and everyone else! Thanks for all the help and we will see you soon, very soon.
Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
