God Has Placed Many People In Our Path Who Want To Know The Real Gospel!

Food from another investigator that was baptized the first week we were here
Elder Ewudzie, Elder Pearson and Elder Reid on the balcony of the old apartment

Dear Family & Friends,

So, I don’t know if this is right, but I think it is--that it’s your birthday soon or has already passed Mom. So happy birthday--I love you tons and tons! When I get home I will be able to go with you all to the temple in Las Vegas. Anyway, I was going to tell you happy birthday last week, but I can not remember it all. Once again, you will get to pick your gift when you get here. I was thinking some beads to go with your dress. I don’t know though, whatever you want. And I will get Dad something Muslim to wear.

Well, this week was still not easy but it was better then last week, it was actually a pretty good week. We had a great turnout at church there were 9 and it made us really happy. God has once again placed many people in our path who want to know the real gospel. People have been coming to church all by themselves and calling us on the street, it’s been really good. So I am still in Adenta, till the end of my mission most likely. I’m glad this week about that, even though it will be hard I will be happy. Right now we have 8 people with dates. Two are half families, which mean that only one parent is a member. Also some people whom our recent converts brought to church--they are sisters and one has a date and the other does not. So I’m going to work really hard to get the rest done. We are working hard to find some people these next two weeks that we can baptize when Elder Pearson’s parents come. Also, when you come, hopefully you can come watch a baptism on Saturday. Your pills will be finished this week that is good. So you will both be ready to come over here very soon. I’m so happy that you are going to come and see what it’s really like out here! It will be really neat for you both.

Sounds like you guys are all having lots of fun back home still. I am too, but I ran out of money, so for some days it was not fun. Today I went and got some. From now on I’m going to watch how I spend my money--going to Shoprite and stuff was not a good idea. I spent too much money.

We got some new Elders in the apartment. First the greenie—he is a cool guy from Highland (by Alpine--by Elder Jorgenson). He is a little bit like someone I know--Justin Allred. Then Elder Sessay--I don’t know where he is from. He is not too new in the mission field but newer than I know. He probably came in when I was in Nungua. He is quiet. So now the apartment is very clean because everyone likes to clean again. So I am happy about that.

Well today I am going home to make some agushi and chicken, which will be great, with some garrey or abba. It’s really a Nigerian food but I have always loved it. Elder Neilson, the greenie, went to culinary school like I wanted to. So I don’t know how he is at making food. I wish I could cook more things, but there is no time. I got some stuff to make pop corn so that will be really sweet.

That is cool about Josh’s white coat thing--that will be really cool to go to. You need to take some pictures to send to me because I am getting bored with the old ones. I hope everyone else in the family is doing well. Sounds like Shelby and Matt are loving their new house, their new dog and everything. Also Josh and Jenny in there new house, it sounds like they are going to have a pretty nice place. I will have a lot of new things to come home and see which will be pretty crazy. Now there is only 4 months left and that is great, because I am ready to see all of you again.

We bought a new thing to work out, it is really cool. It is a wheel and you roll it---it’s pretty old school in America---but it’s pretty new here and it works pretty well. It pretty much kills me but I am trying to get that 8 pack before I get home and I want it so bad--ha ha. Also, I stopped wearing my contacts because it has been bothering my left eye every night when it gets to the end of the day. I found some eye drops in my bag so I am going to start using them to see if I can start wearing my contacts again. It’s really hard to wear these glasses—one pair feels like they are too powerful and they give me a headache and the other ones have no nose pads and they are all scratched up. Tonight I will try to wear the contacts again.

Well, love you all--thanks for everything.
Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
