Dear Family & Friends,
Okay, well this week has been pretty good. Not a lot to talk about, but there is a little. So at church this week we had lots of people come again—8 plus 2 more came later on. So this week was sweet again. I hope to end like this with lots of people coming to church and lots of people coming through the waters of baptism. We had our Zone Conference this week and that is what I will start with. It was pretty good. I had to instruct which might be my last instruction. We have two more meetings before I go home so they should be pretty good. I guess (I hope) everyone is getting it. I will not really get to be here to see the out come of how the mission does now.
So this week we planned to go pick some people up to get them to Church and this is the first time that it has actually worked out very well. We picked up an older man and also the family that we picked up last week. It was sweet! The man was not there at first, but we waited small for him and then he came. The family was not ready so they did not come with us, but they did come, so that was sweet. There are two mothers that are really cool with lots of kids. We woke up at 4:00 a.m. to get them so that was not really easy but we did it. I am glad they are good people and will not just tell us to come then not be ready to come at all like we have had in the past.
We also have a guy that stays pretty far from the chapel but he is really good in the Gospel. One of the coolest things he said was, "I have been to many churches and they could never answer the questions that I have.” So we said ask them and he did. I pulled out the Book of Mormon and said is it okay if we answer your questions out of this. The questions he asked were perfect for the Book of Mormon. When we went back to teach him and he asked another question I pulled out the Bible and he said I hope you’re going to use this because I find it easier to believe then the Bible. He was holding the Book of Mormon. The guy is really cool. I hope that he will get baptized on the date that we gave him.
It’s been really fun to keep seeing people’s lives change out here. I told you a long time ago about the guy named Ernest. He was a person who contacted us and we thought that he was not really ready. Well, he got baptized and he is really cool. This week he was going to serve as our Ward Missionary because we need one for 6 weeks but then they called another guy to do it. He got a job this week working for a guy that we went to teach. We had no idea that Ernest was working there so that was way cool. He looked really happy and he was wearing some sweet clothes so the whole thing was just really cool. He probably would not have gotten the job without the blessings of Heavenly Father--he did what he was supposed to do.
I have not heard anything about transfers this week so that means that I will probably not be leaving this area until the day that you come here. That day will be really sweet---I cannot even wait. It’s going to be sweet these last 6 weeks because the goal is in sight. Now I just have to run to the end. I hope that it will go fast but also kind of slow.
Oh, I did not tell you about the sister we baptized recently--she is really cool. She makes us food all the time. She is a great member of the church. She is very shy and really funny. We are also teaching her mom who is awesome. She has some problems stopping her from coming to Church but now we are working through them. She wants to be baptized so badly and it will be really cool if she does before I go home. Maybe even the day that you will be here.
Well today I am going home to make some tortillas and pancakes to eat throughout the week. Love you all tons and miss you plenty. I hope you’re all having a good week.
Love, Elder Jeremy Reid
